Usually IoT discussions focus either on the hardware for setting up the sensors and bridging devices or in the middleware for dealing with the data aggregation from the sensors. This misses the point that IoT is the realization of end-to-end machine interaction. In this talk I address this issue by showing how to approach IoT end-to-end using free software. We'll pick and choose from many projects out there, some of them apparently unrelated to more "traditional" IoT approaches are revealed to be fundamental for a scalable IoT implementation.
