MapLibre GL JS, Leaflet, Esri Leaflet, OpenLayers, and Cesium JS are all great mapping libraries. However, it can be difficult to decide which one to use for different applications. In this talk, I compare the strengths and weaknesses of each library based on different criteria. The criteria include the following: 1. Library footprint and modularity. 2. Load times for vector tile and image tile layers. 3. Rendering performance of GeoJSON data. 4. Styling and rendering features. 5. Viewport performance and screen size responsiveness.
