A year in the life of a DPL
DebConf16

The role of the DPL is one which isn't understood fully by anyone who hasn't done the job. There's generally accepted knowledge that it a) takes a lot of time and b) you need to talk to people, but the extent of this is very variable. In this talk, I'll go through my year as the DPL, looking at which issues were dealt with and what was actually involved. It'll call in to question what role is expected of the DPL, and if one person can actually perform this task.
