La diversité dans l’emploi est un défi mondial, et l’Inde ne fait pas exception. Est-ce que les jeux vidéo et des jeux de société peuvent attaquer à cette problématique complexe ? Dans le projet IncLudo, le Game Lab du Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires (CRI) à Paris s’associe avec l’entreprenariat social ZMQ à Delhi pour créer, tester, et faire découvrir des jeux dans les lieux de travail et au-delà. Pour mettre toutes les chances de notre côté et pour encourager le partage, nos jeux sont open source, et nos données ouvertes au public. Dans cette conférence, Jesse Himmelstein, coordinateur du projet IncLudo, présentera les enjeux de la diversité dans le monde du travail, comment les jeux peuvent informer et sensibiliser le public, le rôle de l’open source dans le processus de création, et nos quatre jeux en cours de production.

In the IncLudo project, we are making open source games to promote diversity in the workplace. After a year of building and testing game prototypes, we want to share what we've learned about bias, empathy, icebreakers, taboos, and board games while pursuing this important but challenging goal.

Game developers make heavy use of "metrics" in order to understand how their games are being played by the public. Through recording players' actions within a game, designers can identify weaknesses in the game design, such as sections of the game that are too difficult, or never explored. We have created an open source game analytics service called "RedMetrics" in which all data gathered is freely available online. RedMetrics can gather data from any platform (web, PC, console, etc.) and stores it an open repository. The data is available via a web API as well as a web application. To ease integration, we provide interfaces for the popular game engine Unity as well as for the web browser.

RedMetrics offers open source game analytics. It is made up of a RESTful web service and a web app that allows developers, teachers, and researchers to track game metrics, then download the raw data for offline analysis.

To use it for your game, check out the RESTful web service API. If your game works in Unity, check out RedMetrics-Unity. If your game runs in a browser, you can use RedMetrics.js to connect it.

Game programming is so fragile that most new games get written from scratch, again and again. We've created a new game engine for pulling apart games into atoms and stitching them back together in novel ways. Our techniques are inspired by functional programming, reactive programming, and dataflow, but still use imperative blocks that many programmers are familiar with. The game engine is completely open source, as are the games written on it.

We could do it as a talk, or as a tutorial where we show people how to use it.
