Observability is, at best, currently overloaded. I would like to re-create some common understanding of the term, and also remind everyone of much-needed abstractions and underlying concepts.

FOSDEM infra review

Prometheus' exposition format is great, but its adoption is limited, in part, by political considerations. Creating an industry standard which is detached from Prometheus will hopefully help alleviate this issue.
