Biography
Lover of Perl, and open source in general. Active volunteer for the Perl-community for 15+ years.
Co-founder of xxLINK Internet Services, the first company in The Netherlands, in 1994, to build, host and maintain (commercial) websites. Co-organiser of YAPC::Europe::2001, the big European Perl-conference, in 2001 in Amsterdam. Co-organiser and attendee and volunteer of countless Perl Monger meetings in several cities/regions (Amsterdam, Flanders, Niederrhein). Co-organiser of over 10 Dutch Perl Workshops and 3 Belgian perl Workshops and several other events. Co-founder of SPPN (Stichting Perl Promotie Nederland -> Foundation for Promotion of Perl in The Netherlands); also been a board member for many years. Co-founder of YEF YAPC::Europe Foundation (this foundation supports organisers of European Perl-events); also been a board member for many years. Co-organising the presence of Perl at FOSDEM for several years (5, 6, 7? I lost count), both for the Perl-devroom and the Perl-booth.
