The goal of this BOF is to discuss Quality Assurance plans in the buster release cycle. Topics will encompass QA infrastructure, archive-wide testing, processes such as MIA, etc.

With the approaching Stretch freeze, this BOF will be an opportunity to discuss the state of our QA testing tools and infrastructure, and plans for large scale QA efforts before the next release.

The goal of this BOF is to brainstorm about Debian: What are the big challenges for our future? What should we focus on? What should Debian be in 10 years? This talk will provide an overview of the current status of Ultimate Debian Database, and some discussion about future plans.

Recently distributions are often perceived as boring, and working mostly on solved problems, as the focus is moving away to hype stuff such as configuration management or the Cloud. However, distributions are in the best spot to address a number of important challenges -- both old ones that never had a satisfying solution so far, and arising ones. I will describe ongoing work on some of those challenges (mainly in Debian), as well as some thoughts on how we could address other challenges.

The goal of this talk is to review a number of ongoing work in Debian and other distributions, and try to motivate people to work on some important issues. Though centered on Debian due to my experience, I believe that it will be equally valuable for people from other distributions.

Kadeploy is a scalable, efficient, and reliable bare-metal provisioning solution for HPC clusters. In this talk, I will first present the design choices that enable system administrators to install a 300-nodes cluster in a couple of minutes. Then, I will present how Kadeploy is used in the context of the Grid'5000 testbed. Grid'5000 is a large-scale testbed for research on HPC, Cloud, Grid and P2P computing, where Kadeploy provides users with the ability to deploy their own software stacks, making it the ideal testbed to design, test and evaluate IaaS Cloud stacks.

Debian is usually advertised as a volunteer project with a subtle mix of democracy and do-ocracy. While this is correct, implementation details are mostly undocumented, and it is often difficult for prospective or relatively new contributors to really understand the inner workings of the project. This talk will detail some useful lessons, and also some secrets about Debian learned over the years. It is hoped that it will be helpful to people willing to get things done in Debian.
