Are you interested in forming a hackspace or creating a FabLab? Are you interested in learning from the successes and failures or others? This talk will give insight into how we did it, how you can do it as well, and help you avoid the pitfalls we found along the way.
This talk will dive into the story of how we set up our hackspace and cover some history of the hackspace evolution over the last decade. We will also look into some other forms of space including FabLabs and library making spaces.
The speaker comes from a βmakerβ background and is a hackspace founding member of Maker Space, the historic hackspace in Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. They later became a FabLab manager and help libraries and educational establishments on creating their own making facilities.
