The presentation will introduce the attendee to what is openSUSE Leap and what has been changed in its development workflow for reducing the previous contribution barrier between openSUSE Leap and its Enterprise counterpart.
The most visible news is a full binary compatibility between openSUSE Leap and SUSE Linux Enterprise. This presentation will also show the benefits of this shared journey and how the openSUSE community benefits from it.

The talk will show what happen when a new version of openSUSE is released and more fixes and updates are starting to be delivered via the maintenance process. During this introduction the attendees will be able to understand how the teamwork efforts of the openSUSE community and SUSE allow the delivering of a great open source distribution. Always following the open source knowledge sharing approach, the attendees will be made aware of key information for starting to contribute to the project with a particular focus on the area of packaging and testing.
