I held a presentation at LibreOffice Conference 2022 with the Title "LibreOffice graphics subsystems - History & Visions - From Win3.1 GDI to scene graphs". There I explained in detail the past, common and possible future graphics subsystems for LibreOffice. One aspect of this is the transition/escape path to get to new shores and allow to let old stuff completely behind, so reaching new shores. When I prepared that talk I started to implement a complete and working example how to do system-specific PrimitiveRenderers. I promised to continue and finish that in my private time, so I managed to get a working version. In this talk/presentation I want to talk about the process, what experiences I made to create the example, about upstream stuff that had to be done in master to prepare the ground for others and about the state of affairs. I will also make a short presentation/comparison with a version of the office that uses that new technic with the current one to present made achievements.

The Open Office Editors have a long history and mighty tools in their Draw/Impress applications. Due to the long development history, and the always changing UI of software, some of these mighty tools/helpers are pretty hidden nowadays. The Presentation gives an introduction over very useful Tools/Helpers in the current LibreOffice and how to use them to your advantage. There will be a short, abstract overview, but the main part will be demonstrating/presenting these tools in direct usage. This presentation is an advanced version of the original presentation held at the LibreOffice conference 2016 in Brno. Due to the huge echo I got from the first presentation, I decided to refine it and offer it at FOSDEM this year.

This will be a Workshop about Graphic Primitives. These are used for the Office's EditViews for visualization. All DrawShapes are visualized using them, Draw/Impress use them to display the whole EditView. They are also used for Overlay Objects like Selections and Interactions. This talk will give an overview of DrawingLayer Primitives, their usage and future, their basic concepts, how to use them and how to create own Primitives to make use of them.
