Dennis Trautwein holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Applied Physics from the University of Kiel, Germany. He began his career as a software engineer at freiheit.com in Hamburg, where he played a pivotal role in developing the real-time event supply infrastructure for the Daimler Mercedes Me app, which remains in use to this day. In 2020, Dennis returned to academia as an industrial PhD candidate at the University of Göttingen, working under the supervision of Professor Bela Gipp. His research focus is on decentralized technologies, particularly in the field of peer-to-peer networks and protocols. In 2022, Dennis joined Protocol Labs as a Research Engineer, where he is responsible for measuring and benchmarking decentralized networks and network protocols. He continues to pursue his PhD at the University of Göttingen concurrently.
