The problem 2021 and 2. initial solutions 2022. Now I'd like to tackle a bigger point: integrating UX into your community. The two communities are famous for talking past each other and Einstein gives us one solution: step away from the day to day execution and approach UX as part of your planning process. I will call out 3 specific ways to integrate UX into your community that will build consensus and reduce unnecessary conflict.

How can your project attract (and keep!) UX designers? I'll list few specific changes that should help. But I have to warn you, these aren't quick hacks. They're small but meaningful changes to your culture that will also improve your product overall.

I gave a talk at FOSS Backstage on UX and FOSS. This is really 'part 2' in the series, making concrete suggestions maintainers can use to help make their projects more UX focused and by extension, help attract UX designers.
