Since 2016, the New Readers program at the Wikimedia Foundation has run research to understand Wikipedia readers in Emerging Markets, starting with India, Nigeria and Mexico. After a deep research period and subsequent pilot interventions in marketing, product, partnerships, and grants, the WMF Product department has created a new team, whose focus will solely be on creating product interventions for New Readers.
The team will walk the audience through its approaches and upcoming ideas. This session involves participation from the audience.
