Abstract Text: Academic libraries support the mission, goals, and strategic plans of their universities. Learning, teaching, research, and the third role of the university are all areas where libraries provide spaces, collections, services, and expertise of individual librarians. Join us for the story of the efforts of academic libraries in the Czech Republic. The presentation will focus on critical activities that Czech academic libraries develop. They are providing online information resources, developing information literacy programmes, and supporting open science. That is to mention just a few priorities in strategic documents of academic libraries in the Czech Republic. Co-operation between individual academic libraries is a crucial aspect of success in those efforts. Association of Libraries of Czech Universities (ALCU) was established in 2002 to support academic libraries and academic librarians and represent this group of libraries in discussions and negotiations on various platforms. The mission and priorities of ALCU will be mentioned. The presentation will also highlight ALCU working groups, current activities, and plans for the coming years. The crucial aspect of each library is the team of librarians, their expertise, and their development. Getting inspiration from abroad and developing its educational programmes for librarians and library managers is one of ALCUΒ΄s priorities. Various formats of professional development are taking place each year. The presentation will provide details on the most successful events and the feedback from participants.
