Hugo Trippaers started his career as a Unix engineer at a regional ISP, Knoware Internet BV. Hugo gained expertise in architecture, network and system design, finally becoming a Solution Engineer. In 2006 Hugo switched to a management job at Easynet and joined Schuberg Philis a year later switching back to an engineering role. He currently works as a Mission Critical Engineer for Schuberg Philis where his main responsibilities are software development, open source relations and cloud operations.
Hugo has been active in various Open Source communities for a long time, mainly working on getting software to run on the variety of hardware and software stacks commonly found at ISPs and hosting companies. He is currently a member of the project management committee for the Apache CloudStack project. Within CloudStack his main interests are software defined networking, code quality and packaging. Next to working on CloudStack he has been contributing to other open source projects including the Open Source networking controller OpenDaylight.
