Biography

Jean-Sébastien is a software engineer at Pivotal, working on RabbitMQ, a free open-source messaging bus. Since January 2013, he works on the Graphics stack in FreeBSD in his spare time, mainly the kernel video drivers. He first started with the Radeon driver as there was no support for his laptop's Radeon HD 5870. He then updated DRM core to match Linux 3.8 and lately, did the same with the i915 driver. He also helps Koop Mast to maintain graphics-stack-related packages, such as the X.Org server and Mesa.

Like other BSD developers working in this area, he wants FreeBSD to catch up with Linux so that FreeBSD is both nice to use as a desktop and relevant in GPU-based computing.
