Haka is an open source, security oriented, language and framework that allows to analyze live (or captured) traffic and easily dissect and modify it. Haka is based on Lua which is a simple, lightweight and efficient scripting language. The goal of Haka is to simplify the writing of network filtering rules using a common high-level language, hide the complexity of network protocol dissection to the end-user while still allowing complex tasks (such as packet injection) to happen transparently on a live stream.

This presentation will introduce HAKA's capabilities and show some examples of data manipulation both at the packet and at the stream level. An example of packet dissector and grammar implementation will also be shown to demonstrate how protocol management is handled in Haka

This talk will introduce the Ada programming language to people used to more classical, weak-typed languages.

We will focus on how Ada uses its strong typing basis to prevent the most common programming errors at the language level, allowing the compiler to check them before they cause problems.

Wesnoth's animation engine has evolved organically thoughout the years. Getting all the units to work together in an eye pleasing way is a tricky matter

This session will presents the wesnoth animation from a user point of view, i.e how to code an animation into wesnoth, but this will mainly be an excuse to present the specific challanges of writing a versatile animation description language in a turn based game where the user's attention is always focused on the animated unit.

Battle for Wesnoth has a reputation for being a balanced game, but it took many years to get there. This was a long learning process, not only to get a balanced game, but also to learn how to use the resources available specifically to open source software and use them in the best possible way to reach a game that is challenging without being impossible and fair to all players.
